brandee’s 13 Days of Winter Solstice
Day One
Winter Solstice marks the shortest day of the year and the longest night. It marks the point where the continual darkening of autumn finally reaches its peak and each day ahead has more light than the last. Many used this turning point to prepare for the rest of winter and give thanks for the harvest. Since the nights are so long through this period, light and warmth are brought in with sun & star decorations, candles, and evergreen boughs.
These 13 days are meant to help you bring light in this Winter Season. I hope to provide education about different kinds of spirituality. I’ve also included rituals and collective readings to help give more specific help and give you a starting point to try. Go through it with me for the next twelve days or save it to go through all at once!
Welcome and Happy Holidays!

Ritual to Try: Light a Candle
We’re starting with something simple and fundamental to any practice — your use of light. Since this season is all about bringing light inside, take a moment to light a candle. Focus your attention on your breathing and let your eyes get lost in the flame. Take notice of where your stress lies in your body. See how your shoulders feel, can you let them drop further? Keep the moment simple. All you have to do now is notice.
