Aquarius Ascension

brandee was invited to do live painting at an event (held on November 17, 2023) called “Aquarius Ascension” — a night of celebrating Pluto moving into the sign of Aquarius where it will remain until 2043.
To symbolize this ascension, the night was centered around celebrating feminine goddesses. 12 performers took on a specific goddess/xx. Each came out for a round of worship, where the attendees could meet the goddess/xx, give them offerings, and receive their blessings. Intuitive music was being played during the worship, attendees often jumped in with their own musical offerings. Before the goddess/xx procession, the group was led through breathwork and ecstatic dance. Afterward, all gathered for a song circle, embracing the togetherness before floating away.
Rather than painting a specific scene from the night, brandee tried to capture the feelings as they evolved and changed with the different divine energies. She sat in the breathwork and settled into the energy but spent the rest of the night painting what came as fast as she could. The finishing touches took a few more weeks to tie together.
