This painting came about while brandee was thinking about how hard it can be to get support for difficult emotions, especially while they linger. One of those difficult to overcome feelings is grief. It can seem like the whole world is rushing past while we are stuck in place trying to find a way forward. brandee feels that these more complicated emotions deserve more care and tenderness than we are given. Maybe if we slow down and wait with those scary feelings, we’ll see the help there all along.
